If you need to conduct Vermont backgrounds checks, the task is simple. Because of the Vermont Criminal Information Center Criminal History Repository, all of the relevant information is organized and compiled into one main resource. The Vermont Criminal Information Center holds data from all of the criminal justice agencies in the state. This includes everything you would need for Vermont background checks, correctional data, arrest verification, prosecution and sentencing information.
On the Vermont Criminal Information Center website, you need to find the Vermont Conviction Report link. You can conduct a name search by entering the full name and date of birth of the person you would like to search and paying a nominal fee of $30. It is important to note that you cannot conduct this search anonymously, as your first and last name and email address are required. If you are conducting a search for a business you should include the company name as well.
Depending on the purpose of the report, you may need to follow the Vermont Record Checks link in order to obtain a notarized copy of a criminal history report. When you arrive you must submit identification. Notarized copies of background check papers are usually needed for international adoption, child custody, housing, employment, licensing, or civil court proceedings.
The Vermont Criminal Information Center Criminal History Repository does not contain expunged records, motor vehicle offenses, or out of state charges.
