Every day government agencies such as the sherriff's office, the IRS and other law-enforcement agencies seize assets (like property, cars, jewelry, etc) as a result of loan defaults, tax non-payment and in some cases criminal involvement where assets are considered to be the proceeds of crime.

However, with a constant influx of new items coupled with limited storage space - the government is forced to liquidate their inventory continually to allow space for newly-arriving seizures.

As a result - many people have been able to purchase vehicles, equipment, items and even property for prices that are well below market value.

Below, we've listed some resources where you can find government and police auctions. You never know what you might find...

Government & Police Auctions, Seizures & Foreclosure Sales

GovSales - This is the largest database of government property auctions (assets that have been foreclosed on, forfeitures, loan defaults, etc.). The live database includes thousands of items at any given time, including vehicles, jewelry, houses, buildings & land, farms, aviation & marine vehicles/parts, computers, electronics, communications/office, medical/dental, household items/clothing, collectibles, sporting goods, books, music and more.

These items are purchased directly from the US Government (not a corporate entity or brokerage firm).

GSA Auctions - This is another large listing database of items being sold by the US Government, with similar categories of goods as the largest database (above). These items are purchased directly from the US Government.

Bid4Assets - This is a private company that handles a large inventory of government assets (for sale) in their online database. This site is much more "user friendly" than the official government databases, above.

United States Department of Treasury - This is the official database/listings of items being liquidated by the US Dept. of Treasury. Items include real estate and general assets, with exact auction locations and dates.

IRS Auction Sales - This is a very simple system, which searches the current auctions/items for sale made available by the Internal Revenue Service in the USA.

FDIC Corporate Asset Sales - The FDIC liquidates corporate assets, real estate, loans, and other financial assets as a result of banks and other corporations declaring insolvency.

DRMS Sales - The DRMS (Defense Reutilization & Marketing Service) manages the sale of thousands of government assets. Though clunky and difficult to navigate in general, the DRMS sells a multitude of industrial items, personal goods and real estate assets, often at a substantial bargain.

US Property Disposal Office - Real Estate Auctions & Foreclosures - The US Property Disposal Office coordinates the sale of thousands of homes and other real estate that has been foreclosed on, or otherwise seized due to loan default or legal reasons.

US Marshals - Seized Asset Auctions - The US Marshals auctions seized property to the general public, including vehicles, marine equipment, real estate, jewelry, and other estate items.

HVH Foreclosures - HVH lists a variety of government-owned houses and other real estate in the states of AL, MS, DE & PA.

Previously Used Government Property - This is a live auction database that lists a large variety of property, vehicles and otherwise assets that were previously employed by Government agencies - such as police cruisers, heavy equipment and so on. It also contains some seized assets.

Foreclosures.com - This is a corporate entity that compiles a massive, live database of real estate auctions (due to foreclosure) from across the USA. There is a small membership fee in order to bid on properties, although the database is fully searchable and details are available for each listed property. Our link to this company is affiliated.
