is one of the most popular online "self-service"
public record services in the industry.
Contrary
to what the name might imply, Gov-Records.com is owned and
operated by a private company (Software Doctor, Inc) and has
no connection to any official Government agency or program,
other than providing links and compiling public data from/to
actual Government sources.
Their
membership includes lifelong access to their directory of
public records (and sources) as well as access to their proprietary
databases that can be searched just like a regular search
engine.
Some
of these databases are "premium", meaning that your
membership includes a finite amount of "search credits"
that can be used towards premium database queries. Additional
credits can be purchased in order to conduct more searches.

There
are some mixed reviews on Gov-Records.com around the web.
What we've found is that their service has continually improved,
but it didn't start out nearly as well as it is currently.
Many of the complaints we've uncovered date back to the service's
"early years" when their membership was basically
just a directory of links.
Currently,
Gov-Records.com actually offers a wide range of proprietary,
centralized databases and searches, just like how they advertise.
If they had done this sooner - or perhaps tuned down their
claims in the beginning - there wouldn't be a paper-trail
of a complaints around the web.

Verdict:
Gov-Records
is on-par with the other industry leaders, albeit with
an "older" interface and design. They
may not have a particularly gleaming track-record, but
at least at the moment, their service in fact does
live up to their advertising claims.
However
- keep in mind that with any public records resource
- directory, database, premium search or otherwise -
availability, accuracy and coverage will vary.
